Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV
Presented at the Detroit Motor Show, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV is a Range-extended electric vehicle that enables you to project future capacity and the legendary slogan “Go Anywhere, Do Anything” of the Jeep brand. “One of our goals is to develop electric cars belonging to each segment to fully satisfy the expectations of our customers,” said Lou Rhodes, president of ENVI and Vice President, Advance Vehicle Engineering at Chrysler LLC. “The electric version of Jeep Wrangler offers fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness in a segment characterized by enthusiasts who want to live in full contact with nature.”
The prototype Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV is a two-wheel drive car. ENVI organization is currently exploring the development of electric motors with all-wheel drive to show the full usage of advanced electric technology. With the application of electric propulsion in all-wheel drive, high torque delivered instantly by an electric motor and the ability to independently and precisely control each wheel, allow for the development of off-road performance in line with those offered by Jeep brand.
Wrangler Unlimited also uses EV Range-extended electric propulsion of ENVI, comprising an electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion batteries and a small gasoline engine with an integrated electric generator to produce additional energy to power, when necessary, the electric traction system. The electric motor of 200 kW (268 hp) develops a torque of 400 Nm Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV has a range of 640 km which features 65 km of zero emission electric power only.
The exterior of Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV occur with the new key Green Pearl. On both sides there is the logo “EV”.
